The Worst Mass Suicide In The World


Suicide (Latin suicidium, from sui caedere, "to kill oneself") is the act of intentionally causing one's own death. Suicide is often committed out of despair, the cause of which can be attributed to a mental disorder such as depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, alcoholism, or drug abuse. Stress factors such as financial difficulties or troubles with interpersonal relationships often play a significant role. here it's the worst mass suicide ever.


1. The People's Temple


Founded in the late 1970's, under the leadership of Jim Jones, the cult is separate from the world to live alone in a forest in South America. Following a number of complaints, in 1978, U.S. Congressman Leo Ryan visited Jonestown area in a fact-finding mission. When Ryan would leave Jonestown, eighteen cult members who wanted to leave the cult was trying to come with him, which would be a time when the violence erupted. Cult members opened fire on those who try to leave that cult. Congressman Ryan, three journalists and a cult member who tried to escape were killed. Eleven people were injured. A few hours after the incident, cult leaders ordered their members to commit mass suicide by drinking potassium cyanide. Children died first, baby killed by poison is put into the mouth through a straw. After that, more than nine hundred people, including children, to poison themselves.


2. David Koresh 


in the 1990s, the group attracted attention because of mass death was David Koresh cult. When the security forces intend to carry out checks on a farm in Texas on February 28, 1993, cult members opened fire on them. The siege lasted for 51 days was done. When a member of the security forces tried to enter the farm on day 51, the smoke suddenly started billowing. 3. The Heaven's Gate


 Aberrant cult back in the headlines in 1997, when forty people wearing black T-shirts and sneakers commit mass suicide in northern San Diego. Aged between 26 and 72 years, they have killed himself on the belief that the comet Hale-Bopp, who was crossing the earth, would bring them to a higher level of evolution.
